Lou Alpert is a third generation Lakewood resident who takes pride in her extensive knowledge of East Dallas and the unique qualities of each of the neighborhoods she sells. Lou came to real estate after a successful career in publishing. She started a children’s publishing company where she managed 60 sales reps throughout the United States and abroad, oversaw art direction, product development, editorial and advertising, and turned Whispering Coyote Press into a million dollar plus business. Long hours, exceptional commitment to her client’s needs, listening, negotiation and follow up are all skills that Lou now brings to her real estate clients. Today, the key to selling a home is having it priced well and packaged ready for presentation by a Realtor with comprehensive and current market knowledge. Whether buying or selling, Lou prides herself in her ability to guide clients through each step of the process and provides a high level of expertise in all aspects of the transaction. Lou has rarely worked with a client who does not become a friend. Lou attended Lakewood Elementary, J.L. Long Middle School, Woodrow Wilson High School and graduated from Southern Methodist University. Lou is the mother of eight grown children and grandmother of five. An active participant in the community, Lou is the founder of the Lakewood Service League and is an active member of Munger Place Methodist Church, as well as involved in an assortment of Dallas charities and schools including Project Transformation, a summer reading program for children in East Dallas.
